Never one to rest on his laurels, he was a good athlete and played baseball for his school. After graduation, he came to the United States and began a career at General Electric while playing conga drums in a band and attending college in the evenings.
He married and started his family soon afterward. He has been a well-respected businessman and developer improving his community for more than 25 years. Basilio is a proud grandparent who loves spending time with his wife, Carmen, their family, and his two poodles, BamBam and Pebbles. He also enjoys watching sports, particularly baseball, and listening to Salsa and Latin jazz.

While in college at the University of Connecticut, Eddie became a founding member of the Latino Student Association and pioneered the annual “Latinfest” event that has become a cherished tradition at the school. He became a corporate marketing and direct mail specialist for a large health organization, and his love of music and his entrepreneurial spirit led him to work as an in-demand DJ in his time off. Now retired from Djing, Eddie treasures his free time with his wife, Cynthia, their son, Roberto, and their entire family—including his beagle, Woody.
